Prof Ira Rohter

Ira Rohter teaches courses in political ecology and sustainable development, environmental politics, and Hawai'i politics. In 1992, Professor Rohter published his book on these themes — A Green Hawai'i: Sourcebook for Development Alternatives, which has become a model for sustainable development advocates in Hawaii and Pacific islands. He is politically active with students and environmental and good government groups, and frequently found as well as at the State Legislature and County Councils and other efforts to influence policy makers.
