The behavior of man is his response to the surroundings. His travel behavior is a response to the spatial distribution of land use and accessibility available. The use of modes, movement pattern in any area and frequency of movement in any urban area is dependent on the relation of two major entities of physical plan, namely land use and transport plan. the relation between land use and transport, and its implications for travel behavior will be discussed in the paper. Reduction of traffic is a major requirement of sustainable transport. The paper will also deal with the parameters affecting the travel behavior.
