Modelling the Inter-relationship among Quality of Life, Spirituality and Wellness using Structural Equation Modelling Approach
The concept of Quality of Life (QOL) has increasingly become the focus of research in different fields such as health care, social services and families. Spirituality and Wellness appear to be receiving paramount attention by researchers and are usually linked to the studies of QOL. This paper reports research findings of a study that adopts the Satisfaction of Human Needs approach for studying QOL which examines the inter-relationship among QOL, Spirituality and Wellness using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). SEM illustrates the causal relationships under study through a series of structural equations and these structural relations are modelled pictorially to enable a clearer conceptualisation of the theory under study. The findings of the study illustrate that the hypothesised model proposed in the study fits the sample data fairly well. Further examining the results of the analysis suggests that there is a significant relationship among the three constructs under study.
