The paper examines a less-focussed concept of Social Sustainability within the context of achieving a better quality of life and the conservation of the environment. It briefly discusses the various milestones and definitional features of the Sustainable Development concept formulated so far, leading to a discussion of a suggested framework linking Quality of Life and Sustainable Development. Argument is further posed in support of the need for social and human capacity enhancement to upkeep social peace, public safety and preservation of good practices and principles in order to achieve and maintain in Social Sustainability. In conclusion, the paper proposes several sets of key indicators for Social Sustainability Development that could be adopted for further research and subsequent consideration in development and care of the environment.
